Irena Yebuah Tiran began to study singing with Prof. Doroteja Cestnik Spasić at Midlle Music School in Ljubljana.
She got her master's degree in class of Prof. Ingrid Mayr and Prof. Wolfgang Holzmair at University of music Mozarteum in Salzburg. She received a number of prizes and attended masterclasses by Marjana Lipovšek, Breda Zakotnik, Alfred Burgstaller.
Irena is now perfecting her singing with Grace Bumbry. In year 2000 she first sang in opera house in Ljubljana the role of Cherubino (»Le nozze di Figaro«, Mozart). In june 2003 she sang in »L'occasione fai il ladro« by Rossini. Recently she sang Linetta in »The love to the three oranges« (Sergej Prokofjew) in Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana and the role of Frau 2 in a modern opera »Idiot« composed by Johaness Harneit in Vienna. In march this year she sang in chamber opera called Mnemosyne composed by Gregor Strniša.
In year 2005 she sang the role of Ruth in a musical Wonderful town (Leonard Bernstein). She also performed with Slovenian philharmonic orchestra and Simphonic orchestra of Slovenian national radio and television.
She is a member of vocal ensemble Nova in Vienna (performances at Salzburg Summer Festival, Bregenz Summer Festival, Ruhrtrienale, Steierische Herbst).
Irena teaches singing at the music school Marjan Kozina in Novo mesto and gives concerts as a soloist and member of chamber ensembles.
